Three, one of the mobile carriers currently providing services in UK has recently increased its message prices.
Three customers who text a friend a photo or video will get a nasty shock from 13 June, due to a change that could catch many out.
That's because the mobile phone company has hiked the price of a sneaky text charge from 17.4p (0.025 US$) to 40p (0.058 US$).
As a result, unwitting customers who think they have free texts could rack up extra bills twice as high as they used to be.
Three is charging more for multimedia services (MMS). That's any time your text autoconverts from a plain SMS text to a multimedia message.
To be fare though, Three simply caught up with the other operators, as phone companies charge different amounts for multimedia messages. EE and O2 both charge 40p, until June Three charges 17.4p and Vodafone 45p.
