India introduces SMS-based visa appointment
Indian High Commission is going to introduce SMS-based Appointment and One Time Password (OTP) for Tourist Visa applicants from Monday.
Apparently, in a bid to ease sufferings of the tourists in availing Indian visa, the high commission in Dhaka came up with the move on Sunday.
In a press release, the commission said the appointment dates for Tourist Visa applicants including One-Time
Password will be sent to the mobile phone of the applicants by SMS from May 30.
The release also said it will be mandatory for Tourist Visa applicants to show this SMS at the IVAC Centre to enter and deposit the application.
Applicants are advised to fill in their genuine mobile numbers while filling in their forms and applying for online appointment dates, it also said.
The release noted that this will not apply to the Tourist Visa applicants who have already received appointment dates up to June 5, 2016.
